Documentation of my process. Using an iPhone as both my light and image source, I create contact prints on silver gelatin paper of appropriated landscape images. This process results in recognizably picturesque, yet fragmented versions of the original photographs with both digital artifacts and recognizable scenic compositions visible. The confluence of old and new reveals a method through which viewers are asked to question the purpose of landscape photography, while still engaging with an art object with aesthetically pleasing and familiar qualities.
